Warehouse Operations Manager - 19121
Job Description
Canada's largest importer and distributor of flowers are seeking a seasoned warehouse operations leader to manager their facility in Richmond, B.C. Reporting to the CEO based in Toronto, you will manage all critical aspects of operations including budgeting, production, procurement, inventory management, inbound/outbound logistics and quality control, while maintaining compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the production and financial performance of the branch including optimizing sales forecasts to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Manage budgets by identifying areas for improvement and adjusting execution plans to achieve targets.
- Analyze and report on daily, monthly and annual KPI's to stay aligned with performance targets and adjust to changing delivery schedules, product quality and client needs.
- Optimize warehousing and distribution processes for non-edible perishable goods, addressing fluctuating demand to maintain quality and minimize shrinkage.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production workflows, removing bottlenecks and enhancing efficiency.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety, implementing proactive measures to prevent accidents and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
- Ensure the distribution fleet operates cost-effectively, achieving on-time and complete deliveries.
- Maintain high standards for quality and inventory control, implementing procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
- Strategically plan and allocate resources to ensure labor costs are within budget while minimizing inefficiencies.
- Analyze workflows and employee utilization to optimize scheduling and reduce overtime.
- Recruit, train and motivate staff while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Ensure employees are equipped to meet their responsibilities through comprehensive training and ongoing performance reviews.
The successful candidate has:
- Degree or Diploma in supply-chain, industrial engineering or business.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, supply-chain management, production.
- Pervious experience within the flower industry or with perishable goods is highly desirable.
- Results-oriented, organized, focused on producing high quality work within tight timelines.
- Proven ability to lead, train and motivate a strong team.
- Familiarity with employment standards and trucking regulations.
- Possess excellent leadership and communication skills with high customer service focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and inventory management software.
- Previous experience in preparing budgets, monitoring performance and tracking KPI's.
- Strong within logistics and ability to pivot quickly to service customers.
- Ability to embrace and lead a multi-cultural workforce.
