Service Manager
Job Description
Our client is looking for a Service Manager in the automotive service equipment industry. The position is based in West Edmonton and will involve travel across Alberta and potentially into BC.
Our client is an established service and equipment business that supports automotive shops, dealerships, body shops, and service facilities with equipment, installations, and service work.
The Service Manager will be responsible for leading the service function, managing technicians, supporting installations, costing out service jobs, and helping grow service work across the region.
Service Manager responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day service function
- Manage blue-collar technicians, including one current technician, with plans to grow the team
- Support the recruitment and growth of the service technician team
- Assist with installations of tire machines, lifts, alignment machines, and related equipment
- Cost out service jobs, including lift removals, lift installations, specialized jobs, and body shop layouts
- Travel to customer sites across Alberta and potentially BC
- Work with administrative support to coordinate service work, documentation, scheduling, and follow-up
- Support customers with service-related questions, issues, and solutions
- Ensure service work is completed safely, properly, and professionally
- Experience in the automotive industry
- A valid relevant trade or technician license
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of the service industry
- Experience managing blue-collar technicians, mechanics, installers, or service staff
- Ability to support installations, service work, and customer site visits
- Ability to cost out jobs accurately
- Willingness to travel across Alberta and potentially into BC
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to help grow service work and identify new service opportunities
- The salary discussed is approximately $100,000 depending on experience
