We’re looking for a Commercial Construction Site Superintendent for a rotational role based in the Edmonton, Alberta area.

Our client is a well-established general contractor known for delivering large-scale commercial projects across Western Canada. With a strong pipeline and a commitment to operational excellence, they’re adding a proven site leader to their field team. The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations on-site, manage trades, enforce safety, and ensure builds are delivered on time, on budget, and to spec.

Site Superintendent responsibilities:
  • Direct daily site operations and construction activities
  • Coordinate subcontractors, field crews, and site logistics
  • Monitor and adjust project schedule to maintain timelines
  • Ensure build quality, safety compliance, and cost control
  • Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Conduct routine inspections to confirm work aligns with plans and specs
  • Troubleshoot field issues and implement timely solutions
  • Track site activity and maintain daily reports, logs, and QA/QC documentation
  • Keep project management software updated (e.g., Procore)
  • Oversee equipment, materials, and site setup
The successful candidate has:
  • 7+ years of superintendent experience in large commercial construction
  • A diploma in construction management, a Red Seal trade ticket, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of concrete and civil construction scopes
  • Familiarity with site safety regulations and construction best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to drive results in a dynamic, fast-paced site environment
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to evolving project needs
Certifications and site requirements:
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Supervisor safety training
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to work long hours, navigate site terrain, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol screening and medical fit testing if required
Compensation and benefits:
  • Salary range $165,000 – $200,000
