Reporting to the Director, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our client in their Vancouver, BC office.  Due to strong relationships and active growth plans, they are seeing rapid success across Western Canada, in turn, need to add more members to their team.  Besides offering an opportunity to play an integral role with exciting upcoming projects, those interested in professional & personal growth, would also appreciate the environment here.

Responsibilities:

Besides usual Senior Project Manager duties including overseeing the technical and operational aspects of projects, strategic planning and successfully delivering projects on time & within budget, we’re also looking for someone to oversee and develop a small group of Project Managers and Project Coordinators. 

We all know people skills are important in this role, however your ability to build and implement strategies, wrap your head around the technical aspects of the projects and quickly build rapport with the current team are extremely important.

Project Manager responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Develop a bidding strategy for each project based on evaluation criteria
  • Provide oversight to set the overall standard for pre-construction activities.
  • Oversee the development of the construction process, for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Oversee and mentor a group of Project Managers and Project Coordinators
  • Advise on selecting trade and consulting partners
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships, specifically with partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
The successful candidate has:
  • 7+ years of relevant project management experience in the local construction industry, with exposure to industrial, infrastructure and/or mining projects
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, PEng an asset.
  • Knowledge of ground improvement, piling, slope stability, liquefaction mitigation, and familiarity with BC's safety regulations and construction practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Compensation and benefits:
  • Competitive salary ($125,000-$150,000 depending on experience) with bonus plan.
