Our Edmonton client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Piping Engineer to join their growing team. In this exciting role, you’ll provide mechanical engineering support on a wide variety of projects, from conceptual design to capital projects.

As you work closely with clients, strong communication skills will be essential to ensure technical concepts are clearly understood, expectations are managed effectively, and successful project outcomes are achieved. Your ability to build strong, professional relationships with clients will be key to the success of these projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead in multi-discipline projects, developing high-quality deliverables from concept through calculations and detailed design.
  • Execute mechanical engineering activities from concept development through to detailed design, procurement support, construction support, and commissioning, all tailored to client needs.
  • Lead pipe stress analysis efforts, developing models and performing stress analysis of piping systems as required.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their unique requirements, ensuring solutions exceed expectations.
  • Support CAD design work and contribute to piping designs.
  • Develop piping and equipment specifications as needed.
  • Create and manage comprehensive Engineering Work Packages.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget and according to the defined scope and execution strategy.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (process, electrical, structural) to deliver well-rounded, high-quality solutions.
  • Engage with potential new clients, contributing to the growth of the team and company.
  • Travel to field sites for scoping, verification, construction support, and client meetings as necessary.
The successful candidate has: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Must have proven experience in piping design, installation, and stress analysis
  • Registered with APEGA.
  • Strong experience with ASME and CSA standards for piping and pipelines.
  • Expertise in interpreting technical drawings such as vendor equipment drawings, P&IDs, and piping isometrics.
  • Proven experience in preparing comprehensive engineering work packages and associated deliverables including Isometrics, Plot Plans, General Arrangements, Line Designation Tables, Tie-Point Lists, etc.
  • Proficiency in performing piping stress analysis
  • Site/field-based industrial work is considered an asset
  • Registered with APEGA.
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $135,000 to $160,000 depending on experience
