Senior Manager of Food Safety

Our client is on the hunt for a Senior Manager of Food Safety to lead and inspire their QA/Food Safety team across two shifts.
This pivotal role ensures that their products meet the highest standards of quality and safety while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Â
Senior Manager of Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the QA/Food Safety team to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with CFIA, BRC, GMPs, and all relevant federal and provincial regulations across Canada
- Oversee internal audits.
- Oversee operational quality initiatives, ensuring high standards and timely corrective actions when needed.
- Drive the adoption and optimization of digital tracking systems (Data Hex, iPads) for QA and production processes.
- Collaborate with production teams to enhance processes, efficiency, and food safety practices.
- Support staff engagement, culture initiatives, and professional development programs.
- Bachelor’s or master’s in food science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in food safety or quality assurance, preferably in meat processing/slaughter facility, experience leading a team.
- Deep knowledge of CFIA, USDA-FSIS regulations, GMPs, and HACCP principles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Crisis management and decision-making skills under pressure.
- The discussed salary range is $80,000 – $95,000 depending on experience
