Job Description

We’re looking for a full-time, in-office Senior HR Generalist within the mining and industrial manufacturing sector.

Our client, Boundary Mining Group, is a Canadian-based, family-owned organization and the largest gear manufacturer in the country, supporting mining and industrial operations across multiple locations. Known for innovation, integrity, and long-term thinking, the organization continues to grow through acquisition while maintaining strong values around teamwork, ethics, and accountability.

The Senior HR Generalist role will be responsible for owning core HR operations, with a strong emphasis on recruitment, team development, and leadership coaching. This is a highly hands-on role suited for an HR professional who thrives in a relationship-driven, growth-focused environment and is willing to be fully on site in a west end location.

Senior HR Generalist Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment with a strong focus on skilled trades, sales professionals, and engineers
  • Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, hiring strategy, and talent development
  • Coach leaders on people management, performance, and employee relations
  • Build trust and credibility with leadership teams across multiple business units
  • Support employee relations, performance management, and policy application
  • Contribute to building a strong team culture across acquired organizations
  • Provide general HR support across payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR administration
  • Oversees two direct reports; a payroll and an administrative staff member
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws across Alberta and BC
  • Models organizational values
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure

The Successful Candidate Has
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in industrial, mining, manufacturing, or skilled-trades environments is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A CPHR designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated strength in recruitment, particularly for skilled trades, sales, and technical roles
  • Experience coaching and supporting managers in a hands-on, operational environment
  • Strong judgement, high integrity, and a humble, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work comfortably in a full-time, on-site role within a fast-paced organization
  •  Strong knowledge of core HR functions (recruitment, training, ER, compliance, development)
  • High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and a mature professional presence
  •  A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Strong judgment and ability to balance compliance with practical business needs
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, competing demands, and high-pressure situations
  • Resourceful, hands on, open-minded, resilient, and highly organized.
