The Senior Elixir Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality server applications and playing a key role in shaping best practices, architecture, and product direction.
Senior Elixir Developer responsibilities:
- Develop and manage robust, scalable databases and applications
- Write effective APIs to support front-end and mobile platforms
- Oversee and contribute to code deployments, updates, and system improvements
- Build mobile-responsive features and applications
- Write and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enhance functionality
- Guide and mentor junior developers, providing technical insights and feedback
- Evaluate and implement AI tools that improve productivity and code quality
- Champion best practices for AI-assisted development and integration
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Participate in system architecture decisions and technology selection
- Coordinate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- 6+ years of experience in software development, ideally in FinTech, SaaS, or a related industry
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Elixir and familiarity with other languages like Python, React, or SwiftUI
- Proven experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, SuperGrok)
- Experience leading Agile projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Advanced understanding of financial principles, SaaS models, and digital platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must pass a criminal record check and be eligible to work in Canada
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, financial software, or family office platforms
- Background in AI/ML integration or prompt engineering
- Experience mentoring teams through tech adoption and change
- The discussed salary range is $100,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
