Job Description

We’re looking for an in office Senior Accountant in the public accounting industry to work for our client in Wainwright, AB.

Our client is a well established public accounting firm serving a loyal, multi generational client base in a close knit community. The firm has a strong reputation for client care, collaboration, and long term relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public practice accountant who values teamwork, stability, and long term career growth. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for delivering high quality client work while supporting the firm’s succession and growth plans.

Senior Accountant responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review compilation and review engagement files
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns
  • Work directly with clients to support accounting and tax needs
  • Maintain accurate, well organized working papers using Caseware
  • Apply current accounting and tax standards within a public practice environment
  • Collaborate closely with Partners and CPA team members
  • Contribute to a respectful, supportive, and team focused culture

The successful candidate has:

  • 5- 10+ years of public practice accounting experience
  • Full Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Strong experience with compilations and reviews
  • Working knowledge of Caseware
  • Experience with tax software and paperless systems
  • Ability and willingness to work fully in office in Wainwright, AB
  • A collaborative personality and strong cultural fit

Compensation and benefits:

  • The discussed salary range is $100,000– $150,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus based on production
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
  • Predictable schedule with limited evenings and weekends outside of tax season
  • Reduced summer hours with Friday afternoons off
  • Vacation entitlement increases with tenure, plus additional paid time over holidays
