Job Description

Our client, a prominent Chartered Professional Accounting firm operating in various regions of Northern and Western Canada, is on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role reports to the Partners and will involve contributing to a range of Assurance & Accounting tasks within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

 Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Execution of year-end engagements and preparation of personal/corporate tax returns.
  • Planning and implementation of Assurance & Accounting and income tax engagements.
  • Crafting financial statements in adherence to accounting standards.
  • Establishing and nurturing productive client relationships.
  • Responsiveness to client inquiries and recommendations pertaining to engagements.
  • Conducting financial statement audits.
  • Drafting reports and responding to client queries under managerial supervision.
  • Facilitating ongoing communication among partners and team members regarding progress and significant issues.
The successful candidate has:
  • CPA designation.
  • 2-3 years experience in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a client-centric approach.
  • Commitment to excellence and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Community-oriented outlook.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with industries supported by the firm is advantageous.
  • Excellent technical skills, including knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office (preferred).
