Job Description

Are you an experienced insurance professional with a strong track record of managing complex commercial accounts and delivering tailored risk solutions? Our client is looking for a Senior Account Executive to join a collaborative and client-focused team supporting mid-market to large commercial clients across a range of industries.
This role is ideal for someone who excels at building long-term client relationships, navigating the intricacies of commercial property and casualty programs, and driving retention and growth through strategic insight and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Leadership & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the lead advisor and primary contact for a portfolio of mid-sized to large commercial clients.
  • Build trusted relationships by understanding each client’s risk profile, business goals, and industry-specific exposures.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic service plans, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high client retention rate through proactive communication, policy stewardship, and renewal planning.
Program Design & Market Strategy
  • Analyze client operations, existing insurance programs, and risk exposures to identify coverage needs and improvements.
  • Design and negotiate complex insurance solutions with insurers and wholesale markets, including layered or specialty placements when necessary.
  • Collaborate with marketing, claims, and risk control teams to provide holistic and value-driven service.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Identify cross-sell, up-sell, and referral opportunities within the existing book.
  • Partner with producers and senior leadership to support new business presentations and onboarding of high-value clients.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the firm’s commercial practice by deepening relationships and expanding service offerings.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Guide internal service teams to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Act as a mentor to junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Represent clients during key insurer negotiations, claims reviews, or renewal discussions.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed on market trends, underwriting changes, and evolving industry risks.
  • Participate in process improvements, training initiatives, and departmental planning efforts.
Qualifications:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance, with increasing responsibility.
  • Proven ability to manage complex accounts and navigate nuanced insurance placements.
  • Valid Level 2 license (or provincial equivalent); CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation is a strong asset.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and a client-centric approach to service.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients, underwriters, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and brokerage management systems (e.g., Epic, TAM, Power Broker).
