Safety Manager
Job Description
Our client is a leading construction company currently hiring a Safety Supervisor/Manager to join our team working at our Steinbach office. As the Safety Supervisor/Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to effectively communicate safety protocols across various departments.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Lead and manage the safety team to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
- Conduct regular site inspections, identify hazards, and implement solutions to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and used correctly.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
- Stay up to date with industry safety standards and best practices.
- Able to travel to remote sites in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- NCSO or equivalent certification from a recognized training institution.
- A Class 5 driver’s license with willingness to travel.
- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position.
- Experience in the construction field.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian safety regulations and standards.
- A leader who is relational, collaborative, and confident in their ability to influence others.
- Sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures and environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
