Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound medications, including sterile and non-sterile formulations, tailored to both human and veterinary needs.
- Follow compounding formulas and specific protocols to ensure accurate, safe, and effective medication preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the compounding area and equipment, ensuring adherence to both human and animal health safety standards.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to recommend appropriate medication for animals, ensuring proper dosage, application, and administration.
- Assist in the management and ordering of inventory for compounding supplies and veterinary pharmaceutical products.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining medication instructions and ensuring proper understanding of treatments.
- Adhere to all relevant pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for both human and veterinary medications.
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on pharmaceutical practices, especially in equine medicine.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in Ontario
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding techniques, including both sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Familiarity with veterinary medications would be considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, animal care teams, and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy and veterinary setting.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality, ethical standards, and the highest levels of care for both animals and humans.
- The discussed salary range is $31.00 to $35.99 per hour, depending on experience
