Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Conveyancer to become a valued member of a legal team in Victoria, British Columbia. Our client is seeking an adept conveyancer to bolster their experienced and reputable team. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating, coordinating, and optimizing current conveyancing procedures.

Conveyancer responsibilities:
  • Conducting title searches and reviewing property documents to ensure clear title and ownership.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to property transactions.
  • Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction to facilitate a seamless process.
  • Coordinating with mortgage lenders to ensure timely processing of mortgage applications and approvals.
  • Overseeing the exchange of contracts and settlement arrangements, including the transfer of funds and property ownership.
  • Preparing and filing legal documents with relevant government authorities, such as land registries and tax offices.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on matters related to property law, including rights, obligations, and potential risks.
  • Resolving any legal issues or disputes that may arise during the conveyancing process.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in real estate laws and regulations and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all property transactions.
The successful candidate has:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; additional certification or licensure as a Conveyancer is preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Real Estate Conveyancer or similar role, with a strong understanding of property law and conveyancing procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret legal documents accurately.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting, with knowledge of relevant software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and exceeding client expectations.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
Compensation and benefits:
  • The salary range is $60,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
