Job Description

Our client is on the hunt for a detailed Proposal Manager to join their team.

In this exciting role you will oversee the end-to-end bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting proposals. You will help mitigate risks, build client relationships, and conduct pre- and post-bid analysis to improve the company’s bid strategies.

This role is pivotal in securing new business opportunities and driving company growth through compelling and competitive proposals and bids.

Proposal Manager Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily searches for opportunities on public tender platforms.
  • Download and track all required bid documents and communicate with stakeholders as needed.
  • Arrange and coordinate site visits with relevant representatives.
  • Project manage the proposal process, coordinating information from contributors and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Research, write, and edit standard and customized proposal content.
  • Create graphics, charts, and other visuals to support proposals.
  • Maintain quality standards by following proposal-writing guidelines.
  • Manage and update bid-related templates.
  • Submit proposals according to instructions, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Participate in debrief meetings if the proposal is not successful.
  • Continuously improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and redesigning processes.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to develop pricing strategies for bids.
  • Investigate cost factors and critical success factors to develop accurate pricing frameworks.
  • Create bid pricing frameworks tailored to specific bids and tied to customer requirements.
  • Highlight key assumptions and bid methodologies for management review.
  • Conduct review meetings with departmental stakeholders to gather insights.
  • Finalize internal pricing upon completion of review.
  • Translate pricing into the RFP Pricing Submission Matrix.
  • Analyze margins for contracts won at various intervals.
  • Identify reasons for bid losses and incorporate lessons learned into future bids.
  • Maintain bid notes in the analytics database.
  • Analyze and estimate pricing changes for existing locations and ad hoc services.
The successful candidate has:
  • 6+ years experience in a related role.
  • Post-Secondary education
  • An MBA would be considered advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and edit complex formulas.
  • Strong mathematical skills for pricing analysis and forecasting.
  • Understanding of cost and margin analysis.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail for complex documentation.
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and adapt priorities as needed.
Compensation and benefits:
  • Salary ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 per annum
