Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout of district energy projects. You will be managing multiple stakeholders and accountable for delivery of multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment. You will have successfully delivered two or more multi-year projects and will be expected to have an excellent understanding of the project delivery process including risk management practices. You will take responsibility for decisions and project outcomes, set high?standards, communicate exceptionally well and be a creative thinker that looks for fit-for-purpose solutions.
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone with humility and an entrepreneurial spirit, who is ready to roll up their sleeves on a wide range of tasks. Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
- Project risk management.
- High performing communicator, able to effectively communicate project risks and issues at multiple levels.
- Understanding and effective management of complex stakeholder relationships.Â
- Negotiate competing priorities among multiple stakeholders.Â
- Understand and effectively manage the design process and consultants.
- Understand and negotiate equipment supply, construction, and consultant contracts.Â
- Management of residential and industrial construction and commissioning.Â
- Provide input to regulatory processes for projects.
- Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer or equivalent alternative designationÂ
- 8+ years’ experience delivering infrastructure or large commercial / institutional building projects in excess of $20MM
- Strong team-spirit and willingness to go the extra mile
- Expertise with project stakeholders and complex relationships
- Exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid time management, organizational and planning skills
- Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP an asset
- Experience with public sector projects and utility experience an asset
