We’re looking for a Project Manager in the Construction industry.

Our client delivers large scale commercial, and tenant improvement/fit out projects. They are excited to add a true leader to their team who will grow alongside this well-poised company in a thriving field. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the Tenant Fit-Out Construction projects. This client-facing role will focus on ensuring the project is executed in accordance with the defined scope, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements. 

Project Manager responsibilities:
  • Lead overall project delivery, ensuring alignment with established cost, schedule, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with inhouse designers, engineers and architects on a variety of projects
  • Supervise and coordinate the project team, including project controls, quality assurance, administration, and other project-related functions.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction and design development through to construction, occupancy, and closeout, in accordance with GSA’s program objectives.
  • Oversee budget management, schedule tracking, scope development, and the administration of design and construction contracts.
  • Review and approve consultant invoices, contractor requisitions, and other financial documents to ensure proper project funding and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Manage change order processes and proactively address any project scope, schedule, or cost deviations.
  • Resolve design, construction, and occupancy-related issues, ensuring effective solutions are implemented in coordination with GSA and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support in the resolution of disputes, managing communication between the project team, contractors, and the client to mitigate project risks.
  • Review accounting and internal control systems
  • Determine the efficiency of accounting software and supporting database as needed
  • Create and manage business performance metrics
  • Manage regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Lead recruitment, training, and retaining skills accounting employees
The successful candidate has: 
  • Post secondary education in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, with significant experience managing projects valued at $10 million or more.
  • Demonstrated experience leading tenant fit-out projects, including leasing, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Experience managing large-scale office space planning, interior design, engineering, and construction projects, particularly in the context of modernization and tenant improvements.
  • Proven ability to oversee project scheduling, procurement, negotiation, and commissioning processes.
  • Expertise in managing complex project budgets, schedules, and scope development, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on quality assurance and cost control.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance (HSPD-12 clearance).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and client
  • Ability to travel (roughly 25%) to various projects within Canada. (travel cost covered)
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $90,000 – $120,000, depending on experience
