Our Ontario client is seeking a hands-on Production Manager with manufacturing experience in the aviation industry to lead and energize their production team.

Production Manager Responsibilities:
  • Be present on the production floor, ensuring each team member has the tools, resources, and clear direction needed to meet daily goals.
  • Oversee aviation manufacturing workflows, prioritizing tasks and adjusting schedules as needed to align with workload and resources.
  • Ensure strict compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards, such as AS9100 or FAA regulations, throughout production.
  • Empower and motivate your team, fostering a culture of engagement, respect, and accountability.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all active orders, proactively managing workloads to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
  • Oversee the production of high-precision components, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and tight tolerances.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity.
  • Actively engage in minor tasks and process improvements to keep operations running smoothly during workflow lulls.
  • Work closely with production coordinators and foremen to ensure alignment on project statuses and requirements.
  • Lead a diverse team of highly skilled technicians and assemblers, fostering respect, inclusion, and collaboration among employees from various backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
The Successful Candidate Has:
  • 5+ years of experience in production or manufacturing management within the aviation industry (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing equipment, workflows, and maintenance processes.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving issues on the production floor.
  • Exceptional team leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and make decisive changes to maintain production flow and meet targets.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations in aerospace manufacturing.
