Our Edmonton client is on the hunt for a dedicated, hands-on Production Manager to lead their production team, ensuring smooth daily operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in coordinating resources, overseeing workflow, and supporting staff to meet targets and maintain operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a people-oriented, resourceful leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and skilled in managing the daily operations of the production floor while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. This individual will demonstrate a strong ability to support team members, adapt to dynamic demands, and ensure smooth, efficient production.

Production Manager Responsibilities:
  • Be present on the production floor, ensuring each team member has tools, resources, and clear direction to meet daily goals.
  • Manage and prioritize workflow, adjusting as needed based on workload and resources.
  • Build an environment where team members feel supported, engaged, and motivated.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all active orders, proactively manage workloads, and address issues to keep machines running smoothly.
  • Ensure that daily production targets are met efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Identify bottleneck processes and implement small improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Actively seek out minor tasks to improve operations, ensuring team productivity, especially when workflow slows down.
  • Work closely with production coordinators and foremen to streamline processes and ensure that everyone has a clear understanding of project statuses and requirements.
  • Supervise and support a diverse team, fostering respect, inclusion, and collaboration among employees from various backgrounds.
The successful candidate has: 
  • 5+ years of experience in production or manufacturing management, ideally within a millwork, cabinets, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and maintenance; experience troubleshooting and problem-solving on the floor.
  • Strong team leadership skills with a commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment.
  • Able to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and make decisive changes to maintain production flow and meet targets.
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $90,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on experience
