Job Description

We are searching for a Procurement Manager to join a successful mining company in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Our client is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their successful and collaborative team. The Procurement manager will lead procurement operations in collaboration with various departments including the Engineering, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Sales teams.

Procurement Manager responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate with internal team members and current/future suppliers to ensure appropriate management of the procurement cycle
  • Preemptively identify risks that may impact schedule or budget performance; identify and execute alternative sourcing and/or management strategies
  • Develop and manage pre-qualification and vendor approvals
  • Generate, manage, and enforce Vendor Document Registries (VDR’s) with various suppliers
  • Manage all Engineering Bill-Of-Materials (BOM) and ensure that design updates are captured and logged for integration within the procurement database(s)
  • Liaise between internal Sales, Supply-Chain, and Logistics teams
  • Maintain constant communication and collaboration with Accounting, Projects, Engineering and Supply Chain, to ensure timely completion of milestones and associated payments
  • Create and communicate key-performance-indicators (KPI’s) as requested
  • Critically review and/or proof technical project documents
  • Travel to site as required

The successful candidate has:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and/or Business/Finance/Administration
  • 5-10 years of experience working in Procurement functions; particularly within an EPC/M, industrial equipment manufacturing environment
  • Experience with international projects and managing clients and vendor in multiple time zones
  • A strong background in Project Finance and Accounting.
  • A strong understanding of WBS and VDDR’s.
  • Proficient in Excel, ERP, Invoicing, and Cost Allocation.
  • Adept at managing Vendors and Sub-contractors.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting final costs, cash flows and estimating
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Flexibility to travel both locally and internationally
  • Valid drivers’ licence and passport
  • Any of the following designations are an asset, but not required: CPP / CITP / FIBP / PMP

Compensation and benefits:
 
  • $100,000 - $120,000 annual salary
