Job Description

We’re looking for a Payroll Coordinator in the healthcare industry.
Our client is entering a growth phase across Canada and looking for a seasoned payroll person who can come in and join their close-knit team. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for performing full payroll activities and will be based out of Toronto.

Payroll Coordinator responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle biweekly payroll for salary and hourly employees
  • Review and confirm payroll information is accurate
  • Process payroll cycles in accordance with legislative standards
  • Process monthly accrual and reconciliations of bank statements
  • Calculate termination payments and manual payroll adjustments, as well as support in remittances for source deductions, garnishees, WSIB, EHT etc.
  • Generate records of employment for terminating employees
  • Manage documents and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensure employee records are correct and up to date.
  • Support HR activities
  • Support accounting team with ad hoc tasks.
The successful candidate has:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Payroll Compliance Designation is preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience with full cycle payroll
  • Payroll Compliance Designation is preferred
  • UKG experience is an asset
  • General knowledge of Canadian employment law, payroll legislation and accounting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency with relevant accounting software including QuickBooks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and extreme discretion
Compensation and benefits:
  • Salary range between $50,000-$70,000 depending on experience
