Job Description

Our client is on the hunt for a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to take the reins of their Edmonton branch.  We’re looking for a proven leader with direct experience in installation and service operations, who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.

You’ll be responsible for driving growth and ensuring seamless alignment with Support Services and the Executive Leadership Team to bring the broader company vision to life.

General Manager Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading, developing and manage the Branch resources, creating a culture that is rooted in safety, excellent customer service and a drive for results.
  • Recommend and implement action to improve revenue generation and profitability within the branch and satellite offices.
  • Deliver on branch margin and profitability targets.
  • Evaluate and manage branch expenditure
  • Work closely with corporate credit & collections to ensure that all procedures are properly carried out and branch A/R is collected in a timely manner.
  • Working with the branch sales team to develop market strategies to target potential customers.
  • Utilizing feedback from the branch sales team and customer contacts, determining customer needs.
  • Support and promote company-wide sales initiatives and ensure national account service requirements for the branch are met.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships, in collaboration with and support the sales team.
  • Identify, monitor and manage customer service standards, including timeliness and professionalism.
  • Mentor, coach and support the Field Manager to deliver on margin and customer satisfaction metrics within the department.
  • Proactively support the safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures, including customer site programs.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in development and maintenance of procedures to manage inventory turns, min-max levels, shipping and receiving, vendor warranty, and local purchasing.
  • Execute timely communication through regular meetings with branch employees, adhering to a minimum standard of the corporate and branch governance schedule.
The successful candidate has: 
  • Understand the demands of installation-based operations
  • +5 years in a leadership role
  • Must possess an effective, hands-on leadership style, capable of assessing situations, and challenging as a part of the senior leadership team
  • Good negotiation skills and persuasive ability
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Occasional travel to Fort McMurray
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $125,000 – $145,000 per annum depending on experience
