Job Description
Material Manager responsibilities:
- Direct production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts
- Maintain inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within set timelines
- Communicate and coordinate with suppliers, identify and address discrepancies, investigate root causes and recommend improvement strategies
- Develop strong business relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Procure and negotiate terms with suppliers for purchasing required materials
- Recommend strategies to improve supply chain and logistics procedures and reduce costs
- Collaborate with the yard team and other staff for material ordering, pickups, returns, servicing of materials and approve invoices to meet business goals
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of inventory system
- 5 to 10 years' experience in supply chain and inventory systems management
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- Experience within a construction or manufacturing environment
- Exceptional communication skills - relationship building with vendors, and team members
- Organizational and logistics skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software systems
- High attention to detail
- Analytical thinker
- Team-oriented
- Strong negotiating skills
- The discussed salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
