Job Description

The Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, will oversee financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management. This role will be crucial in supporting our mission by providing clear financial insights, managing budgets, and ensuring sound financial practices.

Finance Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the senior management team.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage grant budgets and financial reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper allocation of grant funds and compliance with donor restrictions.
  • Prepare grant financial reports and assist with audit preparations.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to assess financial practices and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, including accountants and financial assistants.
  • Provide training and support to ensure the team’s professional development.
  • Advise the board and senior management on financial strategies and implications.
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and sustainability strategies.
The successful candidate has: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with leadership experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with grant management and compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
