Job Description

We’re looking for a Junior Estimator in the Construction Industry.

Our client is a leading construction company currently hiring a Junior Estimator to join their team. The Junior Estimator will aid in preparing quantity takeoffs, sourcing quotations from suppliers, examining tender documents and assessing projects up for bid.

Junior Estimator responsibilities:
  • Prepare, manage, and lead all operational accounting functions
  • Oversee Generate quantity takeoffs from drawings
  • Perform system checks.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of specifications, scopes of work, drawings, and schedules.
  • Confirm thorough review of all addenda, tender clarifications, and scopes of work.
  • Request supplier pricing before the closing date.
  • Identify any products necessitating architectural approval to bid.
  • Summarize tenders/quotations, specifying inclusions, exclusions, and tender notes.
  • Arrange quotes, tender requirements, bonding, and bid forms.
  • Compile cost reports and arrange estimates for turnover meetings with other departments.
  • Undertake any other related duties/projects as needed.
The successful candidate has: 
 
  • Exceptional analytical, creative problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines while managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, marketing, communications, or Construction related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in technical or content writing is advantageous; experience in architecture, engineering, or construction sectors is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.

Compensation and benefits:
 
  • The discussed salary for this position is $50,000 – $70,000 plus a BONUS structure.  
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered.
