Intermediate / Senior Hydrogeologist (P.Geo) | Remote Anywhere in Canada
Contact – Dave Banns (dbanns@theheadhunters.ca)

About the Opportunity

Are you a Hydrogeologist who feels ready for more?

If you're feeling limited by layers of bureaucracy, a lack of career progression, or an environment where your ideas aren't heard, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

We're partnering with a highly respected environmental consulting team that is growing its water resources practice across Canada. This is a fully remote role, open to professionals located anywhere in Canada, with only occasional travel required.

You'll join a collaborative, tight-knit group where entrepreneurial thinking, technical excellence, and client relationships are genuinely valued. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects, work directly with clients, help shape service offerings, and play a visible role in the future growth of the business.

Whether you're an experienced Intermediate professional ready to step up or a seasoned Hydrogeologist with 10+ years of experience looking for a fresh challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage hydrogeological and water resource investigations from planning through execution and reporting.
  • Conduct technical analysis related to groundwater systems, hydrogeological assessments, contaminant transport, water balances, and groundwater-surface water interactions.
  • Provide strategic advice and technical guidance to clients across a diverse range of projects and sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on water resource, environmental assessment, and contaminated sites projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and clients to advance project objectives.
  • Contribute ideas, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
What the successful candidate will bring:
  • P.Geo designation (required).
  • Approximately 5 to 10+ years of hydrogeology experience, although more senior candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundwater and water resource assessment principles.
  • Demonstrated project management and budgeting experience.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proven client-facing experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, ownership-minded approach.
  • Experience developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a national team.
  • Experience with groundwater modelling, hydrology, environmental permitting, or contaminated sites would be considered an asset.
In return, you can expect:
  • A fully remote, work-from-home position available anywhere in Canada.
  • Minimal travel requirements.
  • The opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative team where your contributions are visible and valued.
  • Significant opportunities for career growth, leadership development, and increased responsibility.
  • Direct exposure to clients and meaningful involvement in business development.
  • A culture that encourages initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Flexible work arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • Ongoing professional development and support for continued career progression.
  • Competitive compensation package, with an anticipated salary range of $90,000 - $135,000+, commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive benefits and performance-based incentives.
If you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, grow your career, and be part of a team that values both technical excellence and innovative thinking, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

Only candidates already eligible to work in Canada will be reviewed. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
