Job Description

We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant in Edmonton, AB with an immediate start. We are seeking a candidate with at least 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience at a company with multiple entities. 

The contract is anticipated to go until the end of October 2026.

They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to support their finance team during a key period. The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle transactional accounting and assisting with month-end, reporting, and audit requirements, working with minimal supervision in a multi-entity environment.

Intermediate Accountant responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end processing of accounts payable, including invoices, expense reports, and weekly payment runs
  • Prepare accounts receivable invoices and monitor collections
  • Reconcile customer accounts and general ledger entries to support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Maintain organised records of procurement transactions and ensure documentation aligns with company policies
  • Support and uphold accounting controls by adhering to Finance Department procedures
  • Perform monthly balance sheet schedules, including preparing bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile related party transactions
  • Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis
  • Support year-end audit activities
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

The successful candidate has:

  • 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment
  • Strong proficiency in preparing bank reconciliations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel

Compensation and benefits:

  • The discussed salary range is $30 – $35 per hour, depending on experience
  • Parking pass provided
