IOS Software Engineer

Job Description
We're looking for a remote iOS Software Engineer to join an innovative AI technology company building the next generation of intelligent personal assistants.
Our client is on a mission to transform how people interact with everyday applications by creating an AI-native assistant that helps users manage conversations, errands, organization, and workflows with minimal prompting. Their platform is designed to handle complex, long-running tasks, maintain persistent context, and deliver reliable real-world outcomes through advanced AI capabilities.
The iOS Software Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the mobile user experience, ensuring AI interactions feel intuitive, reliable, and seamless. This individual will contribute to a production-grade iOS application where performance, user trust, and product quality are essential to success.
iOS Software Engineer responsibilities:
- Build, enhance, and maintain native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI
- Develop and integrate AI-powered features through backend APIs and services
- Design intuitive user experiences for AI interactions, including streaming responses, loading states, retries, and fallback behaviours
- Optimize application performance, memory utilization, responsiveness, and battery efficiency
- Collaborate closely with backend, product, and machine learning teams to deliver innovative AI-driven experiences
- Capture user insights and feedback to support ongoing AI evaluation and product enhancements
- Ensure application stability, reliability, and high App Store quality standards
- Implement and maintain scalable mobile application architectures and engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis to improve platform reliability
- Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team
The successful candidate has:
- 3+ years of professional iOS development experience using Swift
- Experience building and maintaining production-level iOS applications
- Strong knowledge of SwiftUI, async/await, concurrency, and background processing
- Experience integrating APIs and cloud-based services into mobile applications
- Understanding of AI-powered products or experience incorporating AI features into mobile applications
- Strong performance optimization and memory management skills
- Experience designing applications that gracefully handle latency, partial failures, and complex user workflows
- Exposure to CoreML, TensorFlow Lite, or other on-device machine learning technologies is considered an asset
- Experience with feature flags, remote configuration platforms, or A/B testing frameworks is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is considered an asset
Compensation and benefits:
- The discussed salary range is $110,000 - $160,000, depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
