About the opportunity
In this role, you aren’t just a technician; you are the architect of safety. You will take ownership of the logic behind the life safety systems that protect Northern BC. You won’t just be plugging in devices; you will be programming complex sequences of operation, solving high-level technical puzzles, and ensuring the absolute integrity of every system you touch.
Key Responsibilities
- System Orchestration: Program, verify, and perform acceptance testing for complex fire alarm systems. You will interpret sequences of operation and translate them into functional, life-saving logic.
- The Technical Authority: You are the go-to authority for advanced troubleshooting. From identifying intricate electronic components to performing comprehensive system architecture calculations, your technical precision sets the industry standard. Whether you are systematically isolating complex faults, replacing critical components, or providing high-level technical mentorship to field teams, your work defines operational excellence.
- Code Mastery: You ensure every project is a masterpiece of compliance. Seamlessly bridge the gap between design and regulation by interpreting and applying CAN/ULC-524, 536, and 537 standards, while ensuring strict alignment with the BC Building Code; especially on critical new construction projects. Your precision in producing detailed reports and technical findings from the verification process ensures absolute safety and project integrity.
- Mentor the Next Generation: Share your experience. By training and mentoring fellow technicians with your deep fire alarm industry experience, you will actively foster the Strength in Unity culture that defines Allpoints.
- Strategic Project Management: Oversee on site management fire alarm projects from design interpretation to final sign-off, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.
- Explore the Territory: Embrace the travel. You will be on the road visiting client sites across Northern BC, requiring flexibility for travel and occasional after-hours work.
What the successful candidate will bring:
- 5+ years of experience specifically focused on fire alarm systems
- ASTTBC – Fire Alarm Systems (AL) preferred
- Experience with major industry systems, with a primary focus on Autocall, Simplex, Kidde/Vigilant, and Vesda platforms an asset, however familiarity with other manufacturer platforms such as Notifier, Mircom, or Siemens may also be considered
- CFAA Certificate
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
In return, you can expect:
- Base Salary between $35/hr - $45/hr plus OT depending on experience. Those with higher expectations and experience may also be considered
