About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer to perform the detailed design and construction of heat exchangers, and pressure vessels in accordance with Manufacturing standards, ASME VIII & CSA design obligations. Reporting to a PEng with over 30 years of experience, this role also involves reviewing & stamping of construction drawings that are ready for material purchasing and fabrication. You’ll have the opportunity to serve a wide range of industries through various Heating, Refrigeration, Industrial Process and HVAC applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mastering & Applying the ASME Section VIII code of construction of Pressure vessels
  • Mastering & Applying CSA B51 & B52 regulations
  • Mechanical using Codeware Compress software and provide vessel calculation package.
  • Detailed and meticulous verification of manufacturing drawings in accordance with manufacturing standards, customer specifications and code requirements.
  • Assist in technical support to the Quality Control department
  • Assist in fabrication technical challenges
  • Assist Mechanical drafting team
  • Working with the different TEMA construction standards.
  • Provides technical support for piping design according to ASME B31.1 and B31.3 for assemblies manufactured at the plant
  • Assist in development and implementation of welding procedures according to ASME Section IX
  • Contributes to the standardization of manufacturing and design
  • Participating in improving manufacturing efficiency

What the successful candidate will bring:
 
  • Mechanical Engineer – PEng (BC, AB, Ontario or Quebec)
  • 10+ years’ experience in the design and manufacturing of pressure vessels and heat exchangers
  • Excellent knowledge of ASME manufacturing standards Sections II, V, VIII, and IX, as well as CSA B51 and B52
  • Mastering Codeware Compress mechanical calculations software
  • While drawings, codes, and software are all in English, candidates that can communicate in French will be an asset.
  • While this is a home-based role, occasional travel to Laval, Quebec will be expected.

In return, you can expect:
  • Competitive salary based on experience ($120,000 - $150,000), however if you have more to bring to the table, the salary could increase
