We’re looking for a SolidWorks CAD Designer in the Industrial Equipment and Chemical Injection Industry
Our client is a leader in the industrial equipment and chemical injection market, developing customized solutions that support a wide range of oil & gas and manufacturing applications. With a strong focus on quality, precision, and design efficiency, this engineering-driven team values collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
They are currently seeking a highly skilled SolidWorks CAD Designer to help transform engineering concepts into manufacturable, detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
The SolidWorks CAD Designer will play a critical role in product development by creating, revising, and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models and 2D schematics for complex mechanical systems. This includes P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and production-ready drawings for chemical injection systems and industrial pump equipment. The designer will work closely with engineers, project teams, and production staff to ensure accurate and efficient documentation throughout the design and fabrication process.
SolidWorks CAD Designer Responsibilities:
· Design and develop products for the pump and chemical injection market
· Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
· Develop and maintain 2D schematics, including P&IDs, electrical drawings, and custom documentation
· Interpret engineering sketches and specifications to produce concept, prototype, and production-ready drawings
· Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed assembly documentation for procurement and fabrication
· Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional project teams
· Maintain drawing version control and documentation in accordance with PDM protocols
· Support continuous improvement through component standardization and template optimization
The Successful Candidate Has:
· Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks in a mechanical design setting
· Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field
· Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and GD&T
· Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics in accordance with ASME standards
· Experience creating and interpreting P&ID and electrical wiring diagrams
· Experience using SolidWorks PDM or similar product data management tools
· Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
· Proven ability to generate accurate BOMs and provide supporting documentation for user manuals and shop-floor instructions
· Capable of working independently and collaborating effectively across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
· SolidWorks certification is an asset
· Background in oil & gas, custom fabrication, or manufacturing industries
· Experience with CAD rendering tools for generating visuals for sales or marketing
· Advanced SolidWorks modeling techniques, including:

Top-down and bottom-up modeling methodologies

Design tables and configuration management

Large assembly modeling
-
Direct editing via model items in drawing views
· Proficiency in 3D modeling of:

Machined, molded, cast, forged, extruded parts

Structural weldments, sheet metal parts, piping & instrumentation via SolidWorks Routing
· Experience producing a variety of technical drawings, such as:

Mono and multi-detail part drawings

Tabulated and assembly drawings

Inseparable assembly and altered item drawings

General arrangement, P&IDs, wiring harnesses, and schematic drawings
