Job Description

We’re looking for a full-time Dispatcher & Scheduler in the construction, industrial services, and field operations industry.
Location: Stony Plain, AB

Our client is a rapidly growing organization delivering projects across Canada and the United States. Due to continued expansion, they are creating this newly established position to support operational growth and improve coordination between field teams, project management, and operations leadership.
The Dispatcher & Scheduler will play a key role in managing workforce deployment, equipment coordination, scheduling, and logistics to ensure projects are properly resourced and executed efficiently. This position requires a highly organized, proactive individual who can manage competing priorities, build strong relationships with field teams, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily scheduling and dispatching of field crews, vehicles, equipment, and resources across multiple active projects.
  • Maintain and update master project schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines, milestones, and operational priorities.
  • Develop crew schedules by evaluating project requirements, employee skillsets, experience levels, availability, and team dynamics.
  • Monitor workforce utilization, crew availability, and workload distribution to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, and business development teams to assess upcoming workload and resource capacity.
  • Adjust schedules proactively to address changing priorities, field conditions, delays, or resource constraints.
  • Coordinate employee travel logistics, including flights, accommodations, and deployment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to crew assignments, project status, equipment utilization, and operational reporting.
  • Coordinate equipment allocation, rentals, and third-party resources to support project execution.
  • Generate scheduling, utilization, and operational reports to support decision-making.
  • Identify potential risks, resource gaps, and scheduling conflicts while providing proactive solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling processes, systems, and operational workflows.
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or logistics coordination
  • Experience supporting field-based teams within construction, heavy industrial, utilities, environmental services, fleet operations, or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of crew coordination, resource planning, and field operations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with scheduling and project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong administrative and reporting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with field personnel and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach when managing changing priorities.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 CAD, depending on experience
  • Hybrid work arrangement (1 day/week remote)
