About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Director – Supply Chain to lead and evolve a growing procurement and inventory function within a successful, multi-location retail organization. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced retail environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams, optimizing supply chain operations, and driving business results.

Reporting to a senior operations executive, the successful candidate will provide leadership across purchasing, inventory management, and pricing functions while partnering closely with retail operations, distribution, finance, sales, and marketing teams. This role will play a key part in shaping the organization’s long-term supply chain strategy and supporting continued growth across a broad retail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the organization’s supply chain and procurement strategy, supporting long-term business objectives.
  • Lead purchasing, inventory management, and pricing functions to ensure product availability, inventory optimization, and profitable growth.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, controls, and technology across the supply chain.
  • Establish meaningful performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor operational and financial results.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across retail operations, distribution, finance, sales, and marketing to align supply chain strategies with business needs.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships and negotiate value-driven solutions that enhance performance and profitability.
  • Drive inventory turn, service level, cost management, and procurement performance objectives.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and champion best practices across supply chain operations.
  • Support talent planning, succession development, and workforce growth within the department.

What the Successful Candidate Will Bring
  • Proven senior leadership experience within a retail supply chain, purchasing, merchandising, or inventory management environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline; professional supply chain designations are considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success leading large purchasing and inventory functions within a complex, multi-site retail organization.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory planning, demand forecasting, supplier management, and operational excellence.
  • Experience implementing process improvements, systems enhancements, and change management initiatives.
  • A strategic mindset combined with the ability to execute and deliver measurable business results.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • A collaborative leadership style focused on developing people, building trust, and fostering accountability.
