Job Description

We’re looking for an on-site City Dispatcher (LTL Focus) in the transportation and logistics industry.

Our client is a respected and growing company with a strong reputation in the LTL sector. Known for its collaborative team culture and supportive leadership, the company offers a family-style work environment with casual dress, teamwork, and open communication. The City Dispatcher will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating local deliveries while supporting drivers and internal colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

City Dispatcher responsibilities:

  • Dispatch and coordinate drivers for city routes
  • Plan and schedule local deliveries efficiently
  • Monitor driver assignments and adjust schedules as needed
  • Resolve route or delivery issues quickly and effectively
  • Communicate with drivers, dock staff, and internal colleagues to support operations
  • Use Microsoft Office and Google Docs to maintain dispatch records and schedules
The successful candidate has:
  • 2–3 years of city dispatch experience, ideally in an LTL environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable and punctual with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with dispatch systems or transportation management software is an asset
  • Background in small to mid-sized logistics firms considered an advantage
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 depending on experience
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
  • Profit sharing after 1 year
