Counter Sales Representative (Plumbing)
Job Description
We’re looking for an on-site Counter Sales Representative in the wholesale plumbing supply industry.
Our client is a well-established wholesale distributor specializing in plumbing products and solutions for contractors and trade professionals. Known for stability, long-term employee tenure, and internal growth, this organization operates in a high-demand, technical environment where product knowledge truly matters. The Counter Sales Representative will be responsible for supporting contractors and customers at the counter and over the phone, with a strong focus on plumbing-specific products, systems, and applications.
Counter Sales Representative responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-in and phone-in customers, primarily plumbing contractors and trade professionals
- Provide knowledgeable guidance on plumbing products, fittings, fixtures, and related materials
- Accurately enter orders into the ERP system, ensuring correct product selection and pricing
- Troubleshoot customer issues, backorders, and product questions using plumbing expertise
- Conduct stock checks and confirm availability across warehouse and branch locations
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of plumbing inventory, aisles, and counter areas
- Support shipping and receiving activities related to plumbing materials as Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure smooth daily operations
The successful candidate has:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in the plumbing industry (counter sales, wholesale distribution, contractor support, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing products, components, and real-world applications
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to support trade professionals efficiently
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with order-entry or ERP systems
- A dependable, team-oriented workstyle and strong attention to detail
Compensation and benefits:
- The discussed hourly wage range is $22- $25 depending on experience
- Candidates with deeper plumbing knowledge may be considered at higher compensation
