Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial reporting for publicly traded company including consolidation of Canadian & Europe entities.
- Overseeing the day to day accounting functions and leading very small hands-on finance team.
- Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls as required for a publicly traded company.
- Coordination of the annual financial audit.
- Automate finance functions and processes.
- Work closely with CFO on M&A work including private placements, funding alternatives, making presentations and various growth initiatives.
- Working with CFO and executive on planned listing on U.S. stock exchange.
- Develop a dashboard and improve the speed and quality of financial information.
- Ongoing special projects and growth initiatives.
- A CPA designation and financial reporting experience for a company listed on both the Canadian and U.S. stock exchanges.
- Ability to roll-up sleeves and work in fast paced, high growth environment.
- Previous experience in start-up environment with desire to build something special.
- SOX/ internal controls experience and strong knowledge of public financial reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to automate financial functions and improve business processes.
- Excellent communications skills and the comfort in dealing with various external stakeholders and making financial presentations.
- Strong leadership ability and desire/capability/passion to move into executive role as the company builds out internationally.
- Comfort in getting into the weeds and seeing the big picture and building the framework to manage the growth.
- Enjoyment in leading and coaching a small finance team.
- Comfort and success in working virtually in senior finance capacity.
- High level technical skills in complex financial analysis, budgeting and cash flow planning.
