Job Description

Our client, a leading consumer financing firm, is looking to employ a Corporate Controller, reporting to the VP Finance. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player, skilled in multitasking and problem-solving in a dynamic environment. Corporate Controller responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for financial systems to minimize the risk of errors.
  • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management, board, and board sub-committees.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards, including note disclosures.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Supervise overall accounting functions, including intercompany accounting, cash management/reconciliation, balance sheet management, and payroll oversight.
  • Manage the filing and remittance of GST/HST returns.
  • Collaborate with external tax consultants for annual tax return preparation and filing.
  • Guide and support a team of accountants, facilitating their professional development.
  • Effectively delegate tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in the finance department.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits, managing multiple audits simultaneously.
  • Oversee the company's cash position and ensure appropriate fund allocation.
The successful candidate has: 
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in full-cycle accounting, public-company accounting, and IFRS reporting.
  • Prior auditing experience or being audited is preferred.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Proven track record of management and leadership capabilities.
  • Possess strong analytical, detail-oriented, and technical skills.
  • Effective team player with exceptional time management, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Confidently manage heavy workloads and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other accounting ERP systems is advantageous.
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $90,000 – $110,000 depending on experience 
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • Candidate with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
