Job Description
Our client, a highly regarded and fast growing group of companies in the aviation sector is seeking a hands-on Controller/Office Manager to take the reigns as part of a planned retirement/succession plan. Reporting to the President, the Controller with support staff will handle all the accounting, reporting and administrative tasks for a thriving and fast paced group of companies.

The key responsibilities will include:
- Day to day accounting including billing, receivables, payables and payroll.
- Financial statements and reporting for 3 companies including balancing and reconciliation of inter-company transactions.
- Presenting the monthly and annual financial results to executive.
- Inventory tracking and updating pricing.
- Various regulatory tracking and reporting relating to pilots and aircraft maintenance for Transport Canada.
- Supporting all stakeholders within the business including operations, pilots, sales and management.
- Training and leading small office support team.
- Special projects on ongoing basis with executive.
What the successful candidate will bring:
- A CPA designation or degree in Business with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Self-motivated, "can-do" attitude with very strong time management skills. The ability to change gears quickly over the course of a day.
- The ability and interest to "own" all the accounting functions and comfort with hands-on role.
- Strong financial reporting skills including monthly financial statements in multi-company environment.
- The ability to effectively communicate with and support internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
