Job Description
We’re looking for a hybrid Controller in the finance industry. Our client is a growing company based in Edmonton, AB, and they are expanding their team to support ongoing growth. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning while maintaining strong controls and processes. The role offers a flexible schedule with four days in the office and one day working from home.
Controller responsibilities:
- Oversee full cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Lead and mentor accounting team members
- Collaborate with leadership to support business growth and strategic decisions
The successful candidate has:
- 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- CPA designation or working towards CPA
- Strong experience with financial reporting and internal controls
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment with four days in office and one day from home
- The discussed salary range is $100,000 – $110,000 depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
