Job Description
Great opportunity for an entrepreneurial CPA to bring in-house and build the finance function for a highly regarded Toronto consulting firm catering to high net worth clients. Reporting to the CEO and Executive Group, the Controller will manage the day to day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis and internal controls for a number of corporate entities.

Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly and annual operating results
- Overseeing the day to day accounting transactions for each business
- Develop and scale the accounting systems and controls to prepare for business growth and expansion
- Lead and develop the administrative/accounting staff at each business
- Work with executive on growth initiatives
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
- Provide detailed financial analysis for each business unit
- Bring new ideas and work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
What the successful candidate will bring:
- A degree in business/finance with CPA designation
- 5+ years of finance experience at Controller level
- Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of accounting and financial management
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting and complex financial analysis
- The ability to "create, build and own" the finance function
- Ability and interest in working on both transactional and high level finance functions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must be able to wear many hats and shift gears quickly as priorities change
- Excellent computer skills including high level Excel abilities and familiarity with QuickBooks software
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to leadership group
