Job Description
This role will be based in Edmonton with travel to their location in Yellowknife.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring their professional development and growth.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support informed decision-making.
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee external audits and ensure smooth communication with auditors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks and investors.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the logistics industry.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA designation a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and accounting software.
