Job Description

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic growth initiatives, including preparing for the planned amalgamation of the company’s entities.
Controller responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the corporate accounting team, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across multiple entities.
- Standardize and streamline accounting practices to support business integration and scalability.
- Collaborate with the leadership team.
- Prepare year-end working paper files and coordinate with external accountants for review engagements and notice-to-reader statements.
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities for accounting staff.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making as a member of the leadership team.
- A CPA designation in good standing with CPA Alberta.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in managing accounting operations for multiple entities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Outside of work, she keeps active with her teenager, balancing school, sports and outdoor activities.
