Job Description

We’re looking for a Commercial Sales Manager in the building materials industry.

Reporting to the President, the Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the department’s success by producing tangible improvement to all aspects of the department including sales, strategic direction, continuous improvement, project quality, and team growth. Note this position requires 10% overnight travel, mainly to the US.

Commercial Sales Manager responsibilities:
  • Ensure project teams have necessary resources and infrastructure with Project Managers.
  • Improve contracts and legal documents to protect The Company from risks.
  • Educate estimating teams on project needs and refine tools to win more projects.
  • Streamline department processes to reduce costs, enhance communication, and improve service quality.
  • Review and approve all tender packages for project awards.
  • Support sales in developing strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Lead and motivate sales teams.

The successful candidate has: 
  • A foundation of proven Project Management experience.
  • B2B sales experience considered an asset.
  • Working experience within home and building material industries.
  • Previous experience working with or selling to general contractors.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.

Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed total compensation range is $100,000 – $125,000, depending on experience.
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered.
