CAD Technician Responsibilities:
  • Draft and design using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and hand sketches
  • Disassemble and assemble equipment as needed
  • Conduct measurements, inspections, and analyses of existing equipment and parts
  • Provide technical representation of the corporation via phone, email, and in person
  • Assist shop floor staff with assembly tasks when required
  • Implement quality systems and procedures
  • Utilize CMM equipment for measurement purposes
  • Support lead internal auditor in performing internal audits if applicable
  • Represent the corporation at tradeshows and client locations/offices
  • Travel to job sites for educational and on-site emergency or repair services
  • Perform general engineering services and calculations upon gaining product experience
  • Conduct verification calculations per quality and regulatory requirements
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures outlined in manuals
  • Adhere to procedures and documentation per document control matrix
  • Complete travelers as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Collaborate as a cross-functional team member to drive continuous improvement activities
  • Support and help drive teams to meet deadlines
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by senior management
The successful candidate has:
  • Technical training (engineering, drafting or other technical school) or equivalent work experience
  • SolidWorks experience is critical to the success of this position
  • Familiarity with ISO and/or API Quality Management Systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools in a machining environment
  • Experience in CNC machining and manufacturing is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and adapt priorities as needed.
Compensation and benefits:
  • Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per annum
