Business Development Manager:  Contractor & Industrial Markets
Location: Southern California 
We’re looking for a remote Business Development Manager based in Southern California to drive growth across the Western U.S.
Our client is a growing manufacturer and distributor of technical products sold into the mechanical, contractor, and industrial markets. With a strong foundation of channel partnerships already in place, the business is focused on expanding market share, creating end-user demand, and developing strategic customer relationships across the region.
This is a high-impact business development role for a self-driven hunter who thrives on opening doors, developing new opportunities, and driving territory growth.
Business Development Manager responsibilities:
• Drive sales growth across Southern California and the Western U.S. territory
• Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship development
• Build demand with contractors, end users, and channel partners
• Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, and field-based sales activities
• Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with sales objectives
• Identify strategic regional and national account opportunities
• Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and consistent follow-up activity
• Collaborate closely with leadership to support growth initiatives and market expansion

The successful candidate has:
• 5+ years of business development or outside sales experience within mechanical products, contractor-focused equipment, industrial distribution, building products, HVAC, or related technical industries
• Experience calling on contractors, distributors, dealers, or end users
• Proven success generating new business through prospecting, cold calling, and relationship-building
• Experience managing a large territory independently and delivering against sales targets
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated, accountable, and highly driven to achieve results
• Comfortable working remotely in a field-based sales role
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% throughout the territory

Compensation and benefits:
• Base salary of $100,000–$110,000 depending on experience, plus performance-based incentive tied to new business growth
• Car allowance
• Medical and 401(k) package
