Business Development Manager (Wholesale Seafood)

Job Description
Our client is a well-established seafood importer, wholesaler, and distributor supplying premium shrimp, fish, and specialty seafood products to grocery retailers and food service partners across North America. The organization is known for its commitment to sustainable sourcing, partnering with globally recognized certification programs such as Ocean Wise, MSC, ASC, and BAP to ensure responsible harvesting and long-term ocean stewardship.
The new Business Development Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding market presence, driving revenue growth, and strengthening relationships across retail and food service channels.
Business Development Manager responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across grocery retail, wholesale, and food service sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and procurement teams
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase product penetration and regional market share
- Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, product availability, and promotional initiatives
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform sales planning
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates for leadership
- 3–7 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management (preferably in food, CPG, or seafood)
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage complex accounts
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of food distribution, retail buying cycles, or seafood products (an asset)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- The discussed salary range is $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
