The Assistant Controller will support the executive team in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with industry standards.

Assistant Controller responsibilities:
  • Audit and verify financial data within the company.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
  • Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Help manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits, account reconciliation, and cash management.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assess customer creditworthiness and advise on related matters.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparations.
The successful candidate has:
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA Designation and Canadian experience mandatory.
  • Proven experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Strong experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with various departments.
  • Experience in internal controls, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $90,000 to $110,000 depending on experience.
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered.
