Job Description

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, renowned for their innovative products and dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is looking for an Assistant Accounting Manager. The Assistant Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing accounting functions and providing leadership, ensuring effective financial management and smooth departmental operations.

Assistant Accounting Manager responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounting operations, including financial reporting and government remittances.
  • Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and assess project performance.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving measures, and revenue-generating activities.
  • Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting with department heads and monitor variances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Lead special projects to improve accounting practices.
  • Coordinate year-end audits and serve as the liaison with external auditors.
  • Mentor and guide the accounting team to ensure effective departmental operations.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate has: 
  • 5+ years of experience as a General Accountant and 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or a finance-related discipline (CPA designation or in the process of obtaining is an advantage but not mandatory)
  • Experience using financial software.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • A strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $85,000 – $100,0000 depending on experience.
