Job Description
Assistant Accounting Manager responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations, including financial reporting and government remittances.
- Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and assess project performance.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving measures, and revenue-generating activities.
- Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting with department heads and monitor variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain accurate financial records.
- Lead special projects to improve accounting practices.
- Coordinate year-end audits and serve as the liaison with external auditors.
- Mentor and guide the accounting team to ensure effective departmental operations.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding processes.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate has:
- 5+ years of experience as a General Accountant and 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business or a finance-related discipline (CPA designation or in the process of obtaining is an advantage but not mandatory)
- Experience using financial software.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
- A strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Compensation and benefits:
- The discussed salary range is $85,000 – $100,0000 depending on experience.

Outside of work, she keeps active with her teenager, balancing school, sports and outdoor activities.
