Job Description

We’re looking for an Applications Engineer in the Electrical & Industrial Automation Equipment industry.

As a pioneer in their industry, our client is a global leading manufacturer with applications in the EV charging, conveying & logistics, lighting, horticulture, and energy markets. They are excited to add an individual with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving abilities. The Application Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing applications to meet the needs of our clients or internal teams.

Application Engineer responsibilities:
 
  • Design, develop, test, and implement applications tailored to client specifications.
  •  Design and assembly of electrical cabinets and connectors for industrial and commercial application. 
  • Customize and configure software applications to meet client requirements.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for front-end development issues, offering expert guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement enhancements to meet client needs.
  • Participate in product testing and provide feedback to enhance product quality.
  • Provide technical support on industrial electrical products and connectors.
  • Investigate matters related to quality assurance.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings with customers in Canada and the USA.

The successful candidate has: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, CET, or equivalent experience.
  • First-hand experience with: DIN rail terminal blocks, industrial connectors, PCB terminals, Power supplies, Ethernet switches and HMI Industrial functional safety controllers, sensors and relevant standards. 
  • Knowledge of related sections of UL, CSA, CEC and NEC preferred
  • Design, manufacture and quality control of electrical cord and harness manufacturing
  • Electrical power distribution and design of buildings (residential, commercial and industrial)
  • 3+ years of experience in the role of Applications Engineer.
  • Proven expertise in application engineering, project management, and product technical support.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
  • REVIT, e-plan and wire harness software experience is a PLUS

Compensation and benefits:
 
  • The discussed salary for this position is $75,000 – $90,000 plus a BONUS structure.  
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered.
  • In office/field based working environment.
