Accounting Technician (Part Time) - 18978

Job Description

Our client is looking for a part-time Accounting Technician who embodies and upholds the organization’s Christian values and mission. The ideal candidate will be committed to Christian principles and dedicated to incorporating them into all aspects of their leadership. The Accounting Technician will be responsible for managing bookkeeping tasks, including payroll, financial records, and accounts, with additional duties as assigned.

Accounting Technician responsibilities:
  • Manage bookkeeping tasks, including payroll processing, financial record-keeping, and transaction management.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports, including cash flow projections and budget monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with CRA regulations and prepare GST returns.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and audit processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

The successful candidate has: 
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping roles.
  • A Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting and payroll software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the unique environment of charitable organizations.
  • A strong alignment with Christian values and mission, actively demonstrating and promoting these values in their role and in your personal life.

Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed compensation is $30 – $35 per hour depending on experience.
  • This is an in-office position; 22.5 -30 hrs/week.
